READING KIDS L.A.

Briquell Munson, 2nd grade:

“The Runaway Beard” by David Schiller (Workman).

“This book is about a man who shaves his beard and different people put it on and use it for different things. The beard sneaks onto a bald man’s head, into a fishbowl, stuff like that. Whoever made up this story is funny because this is a funny book.”

“No, David!” by David Shannon (Scholastic).

“This book is about a boy who has the same name as my dad--David, who does nasty things and his mom says no all the time. This book helps kids who are learning how to read.”

Steven Tilem, 3rd grade:

“The Encounter” by K.A. Applegate (Scholastic).

“The Animorph stories are great because they tell the adventures of five children who have the ability to morph into the form of animals. The kids can only stay in their animal form for two hours or else they are stuck in that species forever.”

Daniel Tilem, 3rd grade:

“Runaway Ralph” by Beverly Cleary (Avon).

“Most kids have read ‘The Mouse and the Motorcycle.’ This book tells more adventures of the mouse, Ralph, who finds a toy motorcycle and uses his imagination to make the toy become real. I like these books because the mouse is a fun, determined kind of character.”
