Criminal misdemeanor charges have been filed against the manager of the Angels Gate Youth Hostel for allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a 16-year-old boy, the Los Angeles city attorney’s office said Tuesday.

Daniel Pizac, 34, was charged Feb. 5 with two counts of oral copulation with a minor and one count of sodomy with a minor, city officials said.

The boy made the allegations against Pizac in January, while LAPD officers were questioning him for allegedly stealing Pizac’s car, officials said. The boy told police that sexual encounters occurred in the hostel on Jan. 9 and Jan. 13.

The boy, who lives in San Pedro and was not staying in the hostel, told police he took the car in order to anger Pizac, hoping Pizac would then leave him alone, said Deputy City Atty. Kurt Muller.
