Teen Stabbed at Oxnard Trailer Park
A 17-year-old Oxnard boy was in stable condition Saturday night after being stabbed Friday outside his home at an Oxnard trailer park, police officers said.
The victim, whom authorities would not identify because of his age, suffered a puncture wound to his lung during the incident at 1301 Commercial St., officers said.
The boy was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where he remained Saturday night, according to Oxnard Police Sgt. Marty Meyer.
Three hours after the fight, officers arrested another 17-year-old boy they believe is responsible for the stabbing. The suspect, a member of an Oxnard gang, was arrested about 11 p.m. at his parents’ home in south Oxnard, Meyer said, adding, “It wasn’t a situation involving rival gang members.”
Meyer said the victim is not a gang member.
The suspect and several of his gang friends apparently went to the trailer park for unknown reasons before starting a fight, Meyer said.
