LAGUNA NIGUEL
Council members have tentatively approved a recommendation by the Traffic Commission to increase the speed limit on four streets by 5 mph.
The speed limit on Highlands Avenue (from Pacific Island Drive to Niguel Road) will increase to 40 mph, Alicia Parkway (between Pacific Park Drive and Aliso Creek Road) will increase to 50 mph, St. Christopher (from Golden Lantern South to Golden Lantern North at Via Laguna) will increase to 35 mph, and Via Marini (from Parc Vista East to Parc Vista West) will increase to 30 mph.
The council will formally adopt the ordinance at its Jan. 19 meeting.
