With the Super Bowl less than three weeks away, one of the best ways to follow the playoffs is with www.superbowl.com. This site has information on every playoff team, as well as NFL news.

In the news and information section, there is updated news, playoff game recaps and links to Web pages devoted to teams, coaches and players.

There are also video highlights from the wild-card games.

For those who prefer interaction, there are chat rooms covering a variety of playoff-related topics, as well as scheduled chats with NFL personalities.

Unfortunately, it seems as if the biggest stars and best-known names in the league weren’t willing to take part. In a recent chat, fans could read the words of wisdom of Bruce Coslett, coach of the 3-13 Bengals. And the player’s journal features Tony Graziani, the Atlanta Falcon third-string quarterback--not a lot of insight there.

But there is plenty to keep football fans busy.

Photos from regular-season and playoff games, an on-line gift shop, cartoons and free demo downloads of video games such as Madden ’99 are available.

There are also bios on 24 stars in the playoffs. For each player, there are small bits of information such as position and team, but the bios are supplemented with links to Web pages for each player.

For the lucky ones who have Super Bowl tickets but haven’t made travel arrangements or the brave-at-heart planning to go to Miami on Super Bowl weekend, there is a travel section with plenty of tourist information.

There is also travel information for cities hosting playoff games, as well as links to the home pages of all the playoff teams.

The “sidelines” section is the place for trivia and history buffs. It has plenty of Super Bowl facts, history, statistics and information on festivities for this year’s game.
