Longtime Ventura County resident Catherine Agnes Rahill Moran died Wednesday in Ojai. She was 94.

Moran was born June 21, 1904, in Ireland. She came to the United States in 1926 and worked in the banking industry in New York and Chicago.

She married William B. Moran on Sept. 8, 1934, in New York, where the couple had three children. In 1940, the family relocated to Chicago, where they had three more children.

In 1969, Moran and her husband settled in Ventura County. They lived in Camarillo and Simi Valley before moving to Ojai in 1990 to reside at St. Joseph’s Health & Retirement Center.

In Simi Valley, Moran was active in St. Rose of Lima Parish and in Camarillo, she was a member of Padre Serra Parish.

In addition to church-related activities, Moran enjoyed taking care of plants and flowers, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren, her family said.

Moran was preceded in death by her husband, who died in late December.

Moran is survived by three daughters, Mary Hallihan and Ann Latimer, both of Illinois, and Kathleen Tully of Camarillo; three sons, William Moran and Michael Moran, both of Illinois, and Patrick Moran of Simi Valley; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Health & Retirement Center’s chapel in Ojai, with a funeral Mass to follow at 1:30. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Moran’s name to St. Joseph’s Health & Retirement Center Foundation in Ojai. Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura is handling the arrangements.
