Loyola Marymount 101, St. Mary’s 87--Willie Allen scored a career-high 29 points and Haywood Eaddy added 21 to lead the Lions at Gersten Pavilion.
It was the first time in five seasons that the Lions (9-10, 4-3) scored more than 100 points. The Lions never trailed and used runs of 11-1 and 8-0 to grab a 49-34 halftime lead.
Allen made on six of seven three-point baskets and Loyola was 12 of 19 from three-point range.
The Gaels (9-13, 2-5) had five players in double figures, led by Eric Schraeder with 22 points. However, St. Mary’s could not get closer than 11 points throughout the second half.
The last time the Lions reached triple digits was in a 108-103 loss to San Francisco on Feb. 19, 1994. The Lions have won six consecutive games at home, their longest streak since the 1989-90 season.
