LAKE FOREST
The city’s Independence Day celebration will start at 7:30 a.m. Monday with a competitive 5K run/walk. The starting line will be at Lake Forest Drive and Serrano Road. The entry fee is $20.
A $4 all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast will take place at 7:30 a.m. at El Toro High School, 25255 Toledo Way. The Lake Forest parade will start at 10 a.m. Monday at Toledo Way and Ridge Route Drive, and will feature antique cars, firetrucks and hot rods, a hot-air balloon and a float depicting scenes from the life of an early El Toro settler. The city will dedicate the parade to Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Riches, who was killed in a random shooting in Lake Forest last month.
