Three people were injured in a three-car hit-and-run accident Saturday on the Golden State Freeway at Alameda Avenue, authorities said.

An unidentified driver of a Honda Accord was traveling at high speeds in the fast lane at 5 p.m. when the car went out of control, crossed all lanes, broadsided a Toyota Corolla and sped off, said Officer Karen Faciane of the California Highway Patrol.

The force of the crash caused the Toyota to travel across four lanes and slam head-on into the center divider, Faciane said.

A 22-year-old Oceanside man driving a Honda Civic in the fast lane then broadsided the stalled Toyota, Faciane said. He was not injured in the crash. However, his passenger, a 21-year-old woman from Florida, suffered cuts and bruises and complained of back pain and a numb right arm and was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center.

The occupants of the Toyota, a Burbank man, 35, and his wife, also 35, both complained of body pain and were also taken to St. Joseph Medical Center, Faciane said. The couple’s son, 6, was uninjured.

Authorities sought the driver of the Honda Accord late Saturday, Faciane said.
