CYPRESS
Three Cypress police officers have moved up the ranks, it was announced this week. Lt. James L. Weuve was promoted to captain, and Sgt. David S. Birozy and Sgt. Jeffery M. Kepley were promoted to lieutenant. Weuve has been employed by the department since 1972 and will command the operations division. Birozy has been at the department since 1988, and Kepley since 1986. Both officers have been assigned to the operations division. The department will hold a badge pinning ceremony Thursday.
