Jim DiCamilli, the last recipient of the Mayor's Award, has been nominated by Mayor Gary Monahan for a national Sporting Goods Manufacturing Assn. Heroes Award. The award is presented annually to people who, through their humanitarian efforts, make exceptional and lasting contributions to sports in their communities. DiCamilli, owner of Lil' Pickle USA, has been a major sponsor and provider for sports programs at area colleges and high schools for more than 30 years. Winners of the SGMA Heroes Award at the national level receive $3,000 and a $15,000 donation to a charity of their choice.
