Mayor Christina L. Shea has returned from an agricultural exposition in Guadalajara, vowing to open Mexico’s abundant markets to Irvine and the rest of California. She first visited Jalisco, the capital of Guadalajara, in April as part of a California Delegation of Mayors to Mexico. In turn, state officials in Mexico are sending a top Jalisco cabinet member here in the next few weeks, Shea said. Shea is working with Santa Ana Mayor Miguel A. Pulido Jr. to host a conference in early November that would bring together mayors and state leaders from California and Mexico.
