The City Council recently appointed 22 members to an Empowerment Zone board of directors, a panel that will decide how to allocate up to $100 million in federal money in 10 years.
Council members also approved the distribution of $1,887,000 in first-year zone money, with $997,500 going to expand the Delhi Park and Community Center.
The appointees are: David Armijo, America Bracho, Paula Burrier-Lund, Fernando Cibrian, Jim Davis, Jon Dietz, Bill Fogarty, Paul Garza, Doy Henley, Eddie Hernandez, Larry Leaman, Chuck Magdalena, Irene Martinez, Michael Metzler, Al Mijares, David N. Ream, Rob Richardson, Victoria Zaragoza, Larry Haynes, Virginia Avila, Joe Yanez and Mai Cong.
