Volunteers are needed Saturday to help clean up the community.

More than 350 people are expected at the 16th annual Cleanup Day to be held from 7 a.m. to noon.

The event, sponsored by the Mid Valley Chamber of Commerce, will send teams of volunteers throughout Van Nuys to remove graffiti, pick up trash and clear weeds. All cleanup supplies are donated by local businesses and Los Angeles city officials.

“This event is held to renew pride and spirit in the community, to make Van Nuys the best place to live,” said Sunny Winger, a spokeswoman for the Mid Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Free T-shirts, a continental breakfast and a barbecue lunch will be provided to volunteers, who are asked to meet at 7 a.m. at Delano Park, 15100 Delano St., for the breakfast. From there, they will be assigned to cleanup areas and return to the park at the end of the morning for lunch.
