Modesto Downs Lancaster, 10-6
Scott Maynard hit a two-run home run and Cirilo Cruz hit a run-scoring grounder in the ninth inning but Lancaster (19-34) fell to Modesto, 10-6, Wednesday night in front of 2,012 at the Hangar.
Greg Connors’ run-scoring double and Shawn McCorkle’s run-scoring single gave Lancaster (19-34) a 2-0 lead in the first inning, and Jason Turman (1-7) retired the first nine batters before Modesto (39-15) reached him for four runs and four hits.
