One man was killed Thursday and another critically wounded after a gunman opened fire inside a Garden Grove automotive store, police said.

Officers were called at 2:15 p.m. to Zoom, which is in the 13000 block of Harbor Boulevard. When they arrived, they found both victims lying in a pool of blood, Garden Grove Police Capt. David Abrecht said.

One of the victims, who had been shot in the head, could not be revived by paramedics and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The other man, who had two gunshot wounds to his neck, was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was in critical condition late Thursday.

Witnesses told police that a man in his late teens or early 20s, dressed in black, entered the store and immediately fired at the two men, who were browsing through merchandise. It was unclear whether the victims, whose names were not released pending notification of kin, were deliberately targeted or shot at random, police said.

The gunman, who fled on foot, remained at large late Thursday, police said. He is described as Vietnamese, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. Garden Grove police request that anyone with information about the shooting or the whereabouts of the attacker contact them at (714) 741-5704.
