City prosecutors dropped two charges of having sex with a prostitute Thursday against elected Charter Reform Commissioner Marcos Castaneda, who pleaded guilty to one count of trespassing and was given probation.

Hollywood Municipal Judge Dale Fischer sentenced Castaneda to two years’ summary probation during a hearing Thursday, according to Mark Geragos, an attorney for Castaneda.

A resident of Sylmar, Castaneda was elected from the 7th Council District to the city’s Charter Reform Commission two years ago.

He was arrested in Hollywood on Oct. 10 and charged with lewd conduct and trespassing after officers alleged they caught him in a parked car on a residential street with a prostitute.

“There were some significant problems with their case, questions about what officers claimed to have happened,” Geragos said.
