Vasquez Scores in Second Half, Zodiac Wins

Midfielder Jose Vasquez scored the only goal of the game as the Zodiac handed the Sacramento Geckos their seventh consecutive loss with a 1-0 victory Saturday in an A-League soccer game at Natomas Stadium in Sacramento.
Vasquez scored in the 63rd minute after a defensive breakdown by the Geckos, who are winless this season.
Zodiac defender Peter Lak was issued a red card in the 71st minute, but the Geckos failed to capitalize with the man advantage.
The victory is the second in a row for the Zodiac (6-5), which defeated the Pacific Division leading San Diego Flash, 2-1, last Thursday.
The Zodiac remain in second place in the division, trailing the San Diego Flash (9-1).
San Diego faces the Zodiac Saturday at Santa Ana Stadium.
It was the fifth shutout of the season recorded against the Geckos, who have scored only two goals all season.
