The Meats Avenue overcrossing at the Costa Mesa Freeway will be closed for improvements for about 10 months starting today, according to Caltrans. The closure is part of the $118-million Costa Mesa Freeway improvement project between the Garden Grove and Riverside freeways. Caltrans and the Orange County Transportation Authority will be on hand Tuesday evening for an informal open house to answer any questions about the three-year freeway improvement project. “People are interested in their commute or how this will affect their neighborhood,” Caltrans spokeswoman Sandra Friedman said. “This is a time to come and get your questions answered.” The open house is from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Orange Unified School District offices, 1401 N. Handy St. Information: (800) 724-0353.
