A pool hall voluntarily closed its doors Tuesday as planning commissioners prepared to discuss its permit at tonight’s meeting. Officials said that the conditional use permit for Sidepockets, a billiards parlor in the 8000 block of Lampson Avenue, has expired and that operators reportedly violated various heath and safety codes. In addition, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department has focused on the location after reports of gang activity. The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers, 7800 Katella Ave.
