Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship needs volunteers to do office work, gardening, maintenance, horse care and exercising, publicity and special events planning. During the summer, volunteers will help disabled riders Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon at the ranch, 21152 Chatsworth St., Chatsworth. The National Council of Jewish Women/Los Angeles needs volunteers for its literacy, enrichment and library programs, which benefit homeless children, teens and mothers. Participants are also needed for the Art Pals program, which helps third- and fourth-grade children understand contemporary art. Training is in July and August. The Family Service Agency of Burbank is seeking volunteers 55 or older for its Senior Peer Counseling Program. Participants take a free 10-week training course at the agency, 2013 W. Magnolia Blvd. Call (818) 845-7671.

English- and Spanish-speaking therapist aides, classroom aides and clerical workers are needed at the Child and Family Guidance Center. Volunteers work three hours a week for at least six months at the nonprofit agency, 9650 Zelzah Ave., Northridge. Call (818) 993-9311, Ext. 319.
