Ferraro Gets a Little Break

The Kings scratched center Ray Ferraro for Thursday’s game against Nashville to give him some rest.

Ferraro has gone eight games without a goal or an assist and has had only one shot in his last four games. That came Wednesday night at the Pond.

He also has been fighting flu symptoms, but has refused to beg off with the Kings in a desperate hunt for points for a playoff berth.

Yanic Perreault came back onto the ice after a one-game respite that actually was longer because he was benched for the final period of the Sunday game at Dallas.

Perreault centered a line with wingers Nathan LaFayette and Russ Courtnall.

Perreault’s play has been judged soft by the King coaches, who don’t see him going to the net for rebound chances or playing physical defense.

He has not scored in 15 games and has been scratched in three of those. Perreault has 10 goals and 15 assists, only two of those assists in the last 15 games.
