SANTA ANA
A Santa Ana man was in critical condition Monday after being struck by a sport-utility vehicle as he was riding his bicycle near Katella Avenue and North Cambridge Street in Orange, police said. Donald Richard Wright, 41, was apparently eastbound on Katella at 12:23 p.m. when he was struck by a Jeep driven by Kamyar Ken Pezeshk, 47, of Los Angeles, police said. Paramedics transported Wright to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana for treatment of severe head injuries. Neither excessive speed nor alcohol use appeared to be factors in the crash, Orange Police Lt. Art Romo said. The driver was not cited, he said.
