Man Sought in Rape of Girl, 11, at Pacoima Motel
Police were searching Friday for a man suspected of kidnapping an 11-year-old girl from her Los Angeles neighborhood and raping her in a Pacoima motel.
Police said the man pretended to befriend the girl, who lives west of downtown, and drove her to the Coral Bells Motel at 10691 San Fernando Road. The man was armed with a gun, police said.
The girl called police after the attack, authorities said. A resident of the motel also reported seeing the girl and the man in the motel parking lot, Det. Corinne Malinka of the LAPD’s Foothill Division said.
The man was described as Latino, in his mid-30s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 160 pounds and wearing a goatee. He also has multiple, distinct tattoos on his neck, chest, stomach and arms, police said.
He was last seen driving a white, two-door compact car with a black rubber strip along the side.
The victim was treated at a local hospital.
