The City Council recently opted not to suggest how to allocate the revenue raised by the Treasure Island luxury resort. Rather, the council decided to delay a decision on the item and suggested it be considered by a future council when necessary. The resort, if approved by the voters April 27, is projected to raise as much as $2.5 million for the city and another $400,000 in annual property tax revenue for the Laguna Beach Unified School District. The district recently endorsed the project and urged voters to approve both propositions that would pave the way for it.
