More than 300 bricks of marijuana worth about $1.4 million on the street were seized and two men were arrested after a search of one suspect’s home, authorities said Monday.

Acting on a tip, undercover detectives discovered 50 bricks of marijuana wrapped in clear plastic in the trunk of a car during a traffic stop Saturday.

They arrested the driver, Roberto Hernandez, 54, and Raul Orozco, 28, who was in a car behind Hernandez. A subsequent search of Orozco’s house revealed almost 300 bricks of marijuana in a closet.

“We are a street-level narcotics crew,” said Sgt. David Smith of the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station. “We don’t often come across something like this.”

Both men are being held at the Twin Towers Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. They are expected to be arraigned today. They face two to six years in jail.
