City Councilman Tony Lam said he plans to sell his house to finance his fight against a recall attempt and to make up for the economic losses he has incurred from protests in front of his restaurant.

Protesters have demonstrated in front of Lam’s Garden Grove restaurant since March 12, allegedly spitting on and harassing some customers. They are trying to recall him from office because they say he didn’t stand with the Vietnamese American community during recent protests over a Communist flag in Little Saigon.

Lam has vowed to not quit his seat. He and his family have decided to sell the house to pay for his attorney fees in a suit against the protesters and to help offset the lost business.
