Pesticides and Oxnard Schools

“My concern is the implication . . . that we don’t care about kids,” is a recently published statement by a trustee of the Oxnard Union High School District in regard to the May 3 forum on pesticides and schools.
The boycott of the forum by Rio, Oxnard Union and Oxnard school districts, their refusal to study and try to understand the problems involved, their avoidance and suppression of truly valid information on the subject and the determination of the Oxnard School District to site a school on land that would put the students at a health risk--no matter what--raises the point: Are they really concerned about our children or do they have another agenda?
I say to the trustees and supervisors of the school districts: Demonstrate to us, the voters and parents, that you truly care about our children. Your actions speak louder than any words.
