Lancaster Falls to Rancho Cucamonga

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes collected 10 hits and defeated the Lancaster JetHawks, 8-4, in a California League game Tuesday night at the Epicenter in Rancho Cucamonga.

The JetHawks, who had eight hits, dropped to 12-21.

Rancho Cucamonga improved to 16-16.

JetHawk third baseman Luis Figueroa was selected the California League’s batter of the week from May 3-9.

Figueroa had 16 hits in 28 at-bats for a .571 average in seven games. He had one home run, two doubles and five runs batted in.

Double A--Ryan Stromsborg (Notre Dame) hit a pinch-hit, three-run home run in the bottom of the 11th to lift Knoxville (Blue Jays) over Carolina, 5-2. . . . First baseman Jon Tucker (Chatsworth) hit a two-run home run, his third homer in three games, to help Harrisburg (Expos) past Trenton, 12-1. . . .
