The City Council has approved a $55,000 agreement with the Southern California Assn. of Governments to develop the Anaheim Resort Transportation Smart System, a shuttle service in the Resort Area. The city is working in partnership with the Anaheim Transportation Network, the Greater Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, and various tourist and hospitality associations to launch the system in June 2001. About 35 buses and two electric trams will shuttle tourists throughout the Resort Area, from hotels to Disneyland and the new convention center.
