Memorial Day weekend movie fare includes a new version of the ‘50s classic “Inherit the Wind,” a “Wonderful World of Disney” fantasy and a romantic drama starring Helen Mirren and Eric Stoltz.

Rod Steiger and Jeff Saumier star in the Disney Channel boxing drama “The Kid,” Saturday at 7 p.m.

George C. Scott and Jack Lemmon headline Showtime’s new production of the classic “Inherit the Wind,” Saturday at 8 p.m. The drama deals with the 1925 Scopes monkey trial. Beau Bridges also stars.

Michael Riley and David Leisure star in ABC’s “The Wonderful World of Disney” comedy “Dogmatic,” Sunday at 7 p.m. The farce deals with an advertising executive who accidentally trades places with his dog after they are struck by lightning.

Leslie Nielsen and Judge Reinhold star in the Fox Family Channel comedy “Family Plan,” Sunday at 8 p.m.

Helen Mirren, Eric Stoltz, Julie Delpy and Peter Fonda star in Showtime’s “The Passion of Ayn Rand,” Sunday at 8 p.m. The drama chronicles the 15-year love affair between the novelist-philosopher and her young protege.
