Rotary Club Awards $4,000 in Scholarships
* The Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks has announced the winners of its scholarship program, which is open to students with a grade point average of 2.5 to 3.5. A total of $4,000 was awarded to the following high school seniors:
Sandra Storm of Newbury Park received $1,000; April Blaker of Agoura Hills received $750; Margaret Anne Moore of Calabasas received $500; Melissa Bonds of Camarillo received $500; Michael Lewin of Thousand Oaks received $500; Jennifer Barbachano of Thousand Oaks received $500; and Steve Rafter of Thousand Oaks received $250.
Master Artists Series Gets 1999 Peace Award
The Richman Peace and Policy Foundation of Ventura awarded its 1999 peace award to the nonprofit Focus on the Masters series. The educational program, founded by photographer Donna Granata, documents the lives of contemporary master artists and their contributions to society.
