The City Council will vote tonight on the installation of closed-circuit television cameras on the Orange Freeway. The idea is part of a three-city traffic management program designed to help manipulate traffic signals at freeway interchanges when cars back up on the freeway. The cameras, paid for through federal funds, would allow Brea, Placentia, Anaheim and Caltrans officials to watch traffic and help improve the flow of vehicles onto surface streets. City officials estimate the cost of construction to be $584,000.
