The Master’s 84, Pacific Union 43--Sara Scheffer scored 18 points and Molly Scott had 17 for the Mustangs in a season opener at Pacific Union.

Point guard Karen Gormley had 12 points, 10 assists and six rebounds for the Mustangs.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Portland 2, Pepperdine 1--Chrissy Marti scored off an assist from Susanna Heikari with two minutes left to give visiting Portland (11-7-1, 4-2 in conference play) a come-from-behind victory in a West Coast Conference match.

Ventura 3, Cuesta 1--Sarah Costello scored her 16th goal of the season and added two assists to lead the Pirates (16-3-4, 12-0-2) over Cuesta (14-7-3, 9-3-2) in a Western State Conference Northern Division finale at Ventura.

Canyons 2, Santa Monica 0--Kristina Cesena and Emma Barker each scored first-half goals as the host Cougars (17-2-1, 10-2-1) clinched the Western State Conference Southern Division championship.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Frontier League tournament--Calabasas No. 1 player Erin Everly defeated teammate Jackie Yano, 6-2, 6-1, to win the Frontier League singles championship at Calabasas High.

Everly improved to 54-6 in sets with the win over Yano (18-15 in singles, 19-2 in doubles).

Calabasas’ No. 2 doubles team of Brittany Bierman and Vanessa Everly handed the Coyotes’ No. 1 team of Kathy Habuki and Andrea Leewong their first loss, 6-1, 6-2.

Pacific View League tournament--Lauren Gaona of Camarillo defeated Bridget Ragan of Rio Mesa, 6-1, 6-1, and Camarillo’s Michelle Alvarez beat teammate Alexandra Lee, 6-0, 6-1, in semifinals at Moranda Park in Oxnard.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Royal 28, Westlake 5--Derek Anderson had six goals and Marc Ellison added five as Royal (21-6, 8-0) wrapped up the Marmonte League title at Rancho Simi Community Park.
