Marcia Currier Pitman, retired owner of the Mound Guest House, died Monday in Ojai. She was 94.

She was born July 8, 1905, in Mapleton, Maine. In 1913, she moved with her parents and 11 brothers and sisters to Fillmore. She grew up and attended school there.

She bought a home in 1957 originally to take care of her elderly mother. Soon, there were other residents she cared for at the house. It became known as the Mound Guest House and still operates today in Ventura under her only grandson’s ownership.
