Cal Lutheran’s hopes of a three-way tie for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football title were dashed Saturday by an aerial assault from Redlands quarterback Danny Ragsdale.

Ragsdale completed 35 of 47 passes for 564 yards and four touchdowns in the Bulldogs (7-2, 5-0 in SCIAC play) 51-20 victory over the host Kingsmen. It was Redlands’ sixth consecutive conference title.

It was the most yards passing allowed in a game by Cal Lutheran (3-6, 3-2).

None of Redlands’ eight scoring drives lasted more than 2:20.

“They’ve been on fire and we tried to cool them off a little today,” said Scott Squires, Cal Lutheran’s coach.
