A 29-year-old Sylmar man was fatally shot Saturday night after a barroom dispute in Burbank, police said.

Miguel Hernandez was shot several times about 11:25 p.m. just outside the Golden Pitcher bar in the 3200 block of North San Fernando Road, said Lt. Chris Welker of the Burbank Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police they heard Hernandez arguing with another man in the bar before going outside.

A witness told police he saw the gunman leave in a white Ford pickup. Police arrested Jose Luis Triana, 28, a short time later. The suspect had a handgun, Welker said.

Triana was booked Sunday on suspicion of murder, Welker said. He is being held without bail at the Burbank jail.
