Pair Sought in West Valley’s Latest Home-Invasion Heist
Two armed men barged into a house Wednesday and stole cash, jewelry and a car, marking the second home-invasion robbery to strike the West San Fernando Valley in as many days, police said.
A man and woman confronted the two intruders in their home in the 23000 block of Del Valle Street around 5:20 p.m., said Los Angeles police spokesman Eduardo Funes.
After tying the couple up, the burglars ransacked their house and stole $2,500 in cash and other property, in addition to their 1996 white Buick, which was found a short time later in the 5100 block of Jeffdale Avenue, Funes said. The victims suffered only minor injuries and were not hospitalized, he said.
Their attackers were described as two white men in their 20s. Police said they did not believe the incident was related to a string of home invasions in the West Valley.
It was the sixth time in the last two months that robbers have hit homes in the area.
On Tuesday morning, two armed men burst into a Tarzana home and took as much as $400,000 worth of valuables after tying up a 60-year-old woman and a maid.
