49ers Roll Past Dominguez Hills
Playing against a Division II team, Long Beach State did what it was supposed to do in its home opener, rout Cal State Dominguez Hills, 85-51.
The 49ers were never threatened in an easy victory.
Long Beach (1-1) took a 40-20 halftime lead and the Toros got no closer than 18 the rest of the way. Senior center Mate Milisa led the 49ers with 21 points.
The 49ers played without star guard Ramel Lloyd, sidelined because of tendinitis in both knees.
“I’m very concerned,” Coach Wayne Morgan said, adding that Lloyd could play Sunday against Southern Illinois.
Antrone Lee added 12 points and D’Cean Bryant had 11 as Long Beach shot 45% from the field.
