Holiday Closings

The following schedules will be in effect during the Thanksgiving holiday:

* Federal offices will be closed today.

* City, county and state offices will be closed today and Friday.

* Superior courts will be closed today and Friday.

* Federal courts will be closed today and open for emergency filings only on Friday.

* City and county libraries will be closed today and Friday.

* Banks and savings and loans will be closed today.

* Schools: Public schools, community colleges, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Chapman University will be closed today and Friday.

* Mail: There will be no mail delivery today. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.

* Trash: There will be no trash collection today. Pickups will be a day late for the rest of the week, except in Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Orange, Placentia, Villa Park and Yorba Linda. In those cities, only Thursday pickups will be delayed.

* Buses: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a holiday schedule today. Buses will run less frequently, and some lines may not run at all. ACCESS handicapped services will be available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. only. Information: (714) 636-RIDE.

* Metrolink: Trains will not run today.
