7 TONIGHT WESTERN HIGH
Western, an at-large entry, defeated Freeway League champion La Habra last week, 27-7. The Pioneers are at full strength for the first time this season, Coach Toby Howell said, and he hopes his team is beginning to peak. Jamiah Williamson came back last week and rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown after sitting out the final three games of the regular season for disciplinary reasons. Williamson and Western have an offense that features speed and power, but they’ll be challenged by a Pacifica defense that stifled third-seeded Costa Mesa, which averaged 35 points in the regular season, in a 14-6 first-round victory.
