One person, believed to be a gang member, was responsible for shooting all four victims in a Friday drive-by in Garden Grove, police said Saturday.

The four teens were at a party Friday evening, standing outside a home in the 12700 block of Trask Avenue, when they were shot.

The teens, whose identities have not been released, were taken to UCI Medical Center, where they were recovering Saturday.

One was shot in the upper thigh and arm, two suffered single wounds to their chests and the fourth was shot in the ankle.

“They are all going to recover fine,” a police official said.

Garden Grove Police Capt. David Abrecht said it appears one person did the shooting. The weapon was a semiautomatic handgun.

“As far as we can tell there was only one shooter out of the car, and just the one weapon,” Abrecht said.

Though he would not name the gangs involved, Abrecht said it appears that many people at the party were members of one gang and the suspects are from another gang.

The Police Department’s Gang Suppression Unit has launched an investigation. Abrecht said they are trying to determine whether the shooting was the result of “something long-standing or whether there was some kind of incident that took place right there, last night.”

“There have been some bad feelings,” he said.
