Authorities on Saturday continued to search for a 20-year-old Palmdale man wanted in connection with an apparent domestic dispute that left a 23-year-old Antelope Valley man dead.

Thomas David Martinez was being sought in the shooting death early Friday of Basilio Eduardo Leon of Littlerock, just east of Palmdale.

Witnesses said Martinez shot Leon several times while in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 1320 E. Ave. Q, according to Deputy Margarita Velazquez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s headquarters unit. The shooting occurred shortly before 5 a.m. Friday. No one else was injured.

Velazquez said it was not immediately clear who lived in the complex and what led up to the shooting.

“It appears to be a domestic dispute,” she said. “Martinez was identified as a suspect by witnesses at the scene. Martinez is a named suspect.”

Authorities declined to release additional details on the incident because Martinez is still at large, Velazquez said.

Martinez is described as 5 feet 9, about 160 pounds, with a tattoo on his upper left arm and a pierced left ear. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call sheriff’s homicide detectives at (323) 890-5500.
