Magnitude 3.4 Quake Shakes Salton Sea Area

SALTON CITY, Calif. — A small earthquake in Imperial County shook an area near the southern end of the Salton Sea on Sunday.
The magnitude 3.4 temblor occurred at 4:54 a.m. and was centered 16 miles south-southeast of Salton City, said seismologist Joe Franck at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.
