Channel Islands 24, Rio Mesa 6--Michael Diggs rushed for 151 yards in only five carries and scored on runs of 92 and 49 yards before suffering an ankle injury in the fourth quarter at Rio Mesa.

Robert Vorba rushed for 141 yards, including 124 in the second half, for Channel Islands (2-4).

David Herrera of Channel Islands threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Omar Ortega in the fourth quarter for the game’s only completion.

Rio Mesa (2-4) pulled to within 8-6 in the first quarter on a 58-yard touchdown run by Mike Liranzo.

Liranzo finished with 117 yards in 18 carries.

Rio Mesa did not attempt a pass. Channel Islands attempted three passes.
