Two Men Killed in Sepulveda Pass Crash
Two men in a speeding car died Tuesday after the driver crossed into oncoming traffic in the Sepulveda Pass, striking two vehicles and a utility pole, police said.
The accident on Sepulveda Boulevard near Skirball Center Drive occurred about 3:40 p.m., said Los Angeles police Sgt. Larry Delgado.
Three other people were injured, but Delgado said he was unaware of their conditions.
Witnesses told police the southbound car was speeding. One man in that car died at the scene, and the other died at a hospital, he said. Their names were withheld pending notification of relatives.
The crash site, which was cleared about 8:35 p.m., caused an afternoon backup on Sepulveda as officers investigated the accident, he said.
Paramedics took three people from the two other cars to UCLA Medical Center and the Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center, said Jim Wells of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
