Martino, Poling Lead Chapman Outburst

Scott Martino and Aaron Poling each scored three goals to help Chapman defeat Westminster (Utah), 6-2, in a nonconference men’s soccer game Sunday at Chapman.

Martino, who also had an assist, scored twice in the first 12 minutes for the Panthers (12-3-1). Poling scored twice in a five-minute span late in the first half to give Chapman a four-goal halftime lead.

Westminster is 4-13-3.

In Big West Conference women’s soccer:

Cal State Fullerton 2, Idaho 2 (OT)--Lindsey Glick scored an unassisted goal in the 90th minute to send the game into overtime for the visiting Titans, but neither team could score again.

Jennifer Kiebel and Jennifer Frazier scored to give Idaho (8-8-2, 2-6-1 in conference) a 2-0 lead, but Fullerton’s Kim Houg scored off an assist from Amy Barnes in the 84th minute to pull the Titans (6-11-1, 2-5-1) to within one.

Boise State 2, UC Irvine 1--Dayle McNabb scored from 13 yards in the 86th minute to break a 1-1 tie for host Boise State (6-10, 3-6). Cyndi Tredway scored the tying goal in the 37th minute for Irvine (6-9-2, 3-4-1).
