Fountain Valley (4-3, 1-1) vs. No. 1 Los Alamitos (7-0, 2-0)
7 TONIGHT LONG BEACH VETERANS STADIUM
The top-ranked Griffins keep finding ways to win. Their seemingly invincible defense had given up only 37 points in six games, but allowed 36 against Edison. But the Griffin offense, led by Damon Johnson’s 274 rushing yards, bailed them out with a 44-point outburst--20 points more than their season average before last week’s game. Fountain Valley allows only 11.8 points a game but will have to better that to pull off the upset. Leading rushers Nedal Abdelmuti and Steven Fifita missed last week’s game against Marina because of injuries. Coach Eric Johnson said the two are questionable tonight.
