What: www.cnnsi.com fantasy football

For all the people who sit at home and think they know as much as the people anchoring sports news shows, the chance to prove it has arrived. And for those looking for a free ride to next year’s Summer Olympics, you may have found your ticket.

At www.cnnsi.com, there are three free fantasy football games--General Manager, Coach’s Quest and Beat the Experts--each with its own grand prize.

In the General Manager game, players are assigned a salary and you are given a $50-million salary cap. You assemble a team before the season and can make roster moves throughout it.

Along with weekly cash prizes of $100 for first place, $75 for second and $50 for third--awarded in all three games--the general manager with the best score at the end of the season receives a six-day trip for two to Sydney, Australia for the Olympics. The package includes air fare, accommodations aboard a cruise ship for six nights, tickets to Olympic events and other perks.

Fantasy players interested solely in cash should check out the Coach’s Quest game. Players choose from three scoring systems, then enter a league that uses that system. Each league holds a draft, and players can make roster moves within the league. Along with the weekly prizes, the top two scorers for the season from all leagues receive $1,000 and $750.

But the most intriguing game is Beat the Experts.

Every week, contestants pick who they think will win each NFL game, as does the cast of CNN/SI’s NFL Preview television show. Celebrity guests, including talk show host Larry King, rock group Hootie and the Blowfish and WCW wrestler Goldberg, also will make picks.

The player with the most correct picks each week will be named on the Web site and on CNN’s “Sports Tonight” every Tuesday.

The contest is a weekly one and season-long participation is not required, but the two players with the best records over the season, along with two weekly winners chosen randomly at the end of the season, will win a satellite system with free installation and three months of programming.

There are plenty of prizes to win with www.cnnsi.com’s fantasy football games, but the best reward might be seeing your name listed ahead of the television experts. Who knows? If you’re good enough, maybe you’ll be the next one in the anchor chair.
