At a meeting tonight the City Council will consider allocating $11,831 for membership in the National League of Cities, a program that helps train city council members on legislative and policy matters around the nation.
The council also will consider allocating $361,970 of Federal Empowerment Zone funds to several city recreation programs. The funds could go to the following programs: The Boys and Girls Club of Santa Ana would get $100,000; the YMCA of Orange County would get $225,470; the Campfire Boys and Girls would get $14,275; and the Delhi Center, a nonprofit community center in the Delhi neighborhood, one of the oldest barrios in the city, would get $22,225.
